We have established expectations – both what you can expect from us and what we will expect from you – so that all of our clients can experience a safe and structured environment that moves toward The Beacon’s vision:

A Residence to Support Your Recovery

The Beacon has two locations, each offering their own unique community ready to help prioritize and support your recovery.

Women's Shelter & Recovery Program

A women’s shelter with structured recovery programming for those actively working on sobriety. Residents receive:

  • Safe, stable housing
  • Intensive case management & weekly house meetings
  • On-site recovery programming, therapy, recovery meetings, life skills support, and additional resources
  • A phased program structure with curfew expectations
  • Pay rent ($150/week, includes Wi-Fi, utilities, and laundry - remainder covered by other funding)
  • Must have at least 30 days of sobriety (or 28 days if discharged from a structured recovery center) to foster a stable, recovery-focused community

The Beacon Village

Recovery Based Independent Living

A recovery-focused independent living community for women who have achieved stability in sobriety. Residents:

  • Live in private apartments with a lease agreement
  • Pay rent ($575–$750/month, includes Wi-Fi, utilities, and laundry)
  • Meet monthly with a case manager
  • Participate in at least one community-building event per month
  • Are responsible for securing their own additional support services
  • Must have at least 60 days of sobriety OR provide a signed letter from a licensed professional confirming 1–3 months of sobriety and that they are not currently living with addiction to ensure a stable, substance-free living environment for all residents

The Beacon at Sherman Hill

RENT

Client Responsibility for rent is $105/week and includes housing, utilities, WiFi, and laundry. (The remainder is covered by other funding sources.)

HEALTH

Clients will meet with a mental health counselor each week, as well as establishing a primary care physician. Additionally, we collaborate with community partners for other supports you may need such as financial literacy or career development.

PROGRAM

Clients move through our five-phase program which begins with a 5pm curfew and ends with a 10pm curfew upon reaching phase five.

ENVIRONMENT

Clients will share a large bedroom and bathroom with two other women and participate in daily household chores.

Each client has their own bedroom closet with a keypad for safely storing their own items.

SUPPORT 

Upon arrival, clients will work with their Case Manger to determine their needs and goals. They will continue to meet once a week as well as attend a weekly House Meeting with all clients. Our program is minimum for 6 months, and we can continue case management for three years past graduations.

EXPECTATIONS

Clients will be supported with dignity and respect in their journey to remain clean and sober. For purposes of accountability and the safety of the house, belongings will be search regularly, as well as consistent breathalyzer and drug tests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clients must identify as female.
  • Seeking housing as an individual (no children or partners living with you)
  • Applicants should be ready to prioritize their recovery. A formal diagnosis is not required.
  • We welcome women who have maintained sobriety for a documented 30 days prior to entry or 28 days if you’ve successfully graduated or been discharged from a short-term residential recovery center offering structured, supportive care.
