Your thoughtful donations of items and services help us create a safe, supportive space for the women we support.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community. To protect the safety, privacy, and well-being of the women we support, all in-kind donations must now be scheduled in advance.
How to Schedule a Donation
Please coordinate all in-kind donations by:
Emailing Housemanager@thebeacondm.org, or
Calling 515-244-4713, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Unscheduled drop-offs cannot be accepted.
What We Can Accept
We gladly accept new, unopened items, including:
Self-care and hygiene products
Home and facility cleaning supplies
Paper products and household essentials
These items help us maintain a safe, dignified, and supportive environment for women in our care.
Items We Are Unable to Accept
At this time, we cannot accept used linens or clothing due to storage limitations and sanitation requirements.

General Donation Guidelines
To protect the safety, privacy, and well-being of the women we support, all in-kind donations must be scheduled in advance. Unscheduled drop-offs cannot be accepted.
When arriving for a scheduled drop-off, please plan to use the 18th Street entrance and be prepared to use the buzzer, as our doors remain locked for safety.
To coordinate an in-kind donation, please email Housemanager@thebeacondm.org or call 515-244-4713, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Items We Consistently Need
The following items are always helpful and directly support daily life, healing, and independence for the women in our care:
Household and Daily Living Items
Household cleaning supplies (industrial trash bags, floor cleaner for tile and PVC, dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener)
Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels)
Household essentials used as women learn how to care for a home
Bedroom and Personal Care Items
New pillows
New twin-size sheets and comforters
First aid kits
Over-the-counter medications that do not contain alcohol
New women’s underwear (all sizes)
New bras (all sizes)
Food Pantry Items
Shelf-stable food items
Freezable food items
Because freezer and refrigerator space is limited, any food requiring cold storage must be scheduled in advance with our House Manager.
Office and Program Supplies
Pens
Printer paper
General office supplies used by women for goal-setting, job searches, and program participation

Furniture Donations
We accept furniture donations at The Beacon Village location. Scheduling is required so we can ensure items fit the space and meet resident needs. To coordinate a furniture donation, please email landlord@thebeacondm.org.
